Permitted Development Bungalow Loft Conversion, Berkshire

Permitted Development Bungalow Loft Conversion, Berkshire

The Brief:

The family owners of this bungalow in Berkshire wanted to explore the possibilities of converting their underused loft space to create a new master bedroom.

The Project:

A straight forward loft conversion can normally be carried out within Permitted Development, as in this case. Our design has gabled the roof from its former hipped-roof form, improving the property aesthetics and using the new roof shape to create the required space for a new master bedroom with ensuite and dressing area.

To access the new master suite we are installing a staircase, leading directly into the bedroom suite and cleverly integrated into the existing downstairs layout. Downstairs we are opening up the rear of the property to create a spacious and light-filled open plan living area with kitchen-diner.

Finally, the exterior will be rendered to present a contemporary facade.

The Result:

A spacious and contemporary 3-bedroom family home, with upstairs master bedroom suite and downstairs open plan living-diner.
